The Library has been developed as an Information and Research centre. Library has a rich collection of over 40,000 titles including Encyclopedias, Biographies and books on History and Culture of Punjab, Sikh History, Polity, Philosophy, Religion, literature in Punjabi, English, Hindi, Urdu and some other languages. This Public Library has the collection of available printed material related to the writings of Bhai Vir Singh and other prominent personalities.

It is being constantly enriched by acquiring copies of dissertations and research monographs from various universities at home and overseas.

Sadan’s Library is a treasure for the researchers and scholars on Sikhism and Punjab studies and has richest collection of rare books and tracts which can be accessed in the reading room of the Library irrespective of the membership. The Photocopy of any required pages of the books and newspapers is provided to scholars with prior permission of the Librarian, at reader’s cost. Library is subscribed to Leading Newspapers and Magazines.

Timings: The Library is accessible from Monday to Saturday between 10.30 am to 5.00 pm except for gazetted and national holidays. The library remains closed on second and fourth Saturdays of every month. It remains open on fifth Saturday for half day (10.30 am to 1.00 pm).

Membership: The annual membership renewal charges are Rs.500/=. The new members are required to deposit a refundable security amount of Rs.500/= at the time of registration. <Library Membership Form>

More about Library: A separate section houses the rich collection of S. Satindra Singh of the Tribune, Dr. Gopal Singh, Prof. Ravinder Kumar and Giani Ishar Singh Nara. Personal collections donated by Dr. Amrik Singh, Dr. J.S. Neki, Dr. M.S. Gill and Dr. Atamjit Singh are also housed in the Library.

The Library is a member of the Delhi Library Network (DELNET) and the whole collection has been indexed on the computer. It has ample reading space to give a peaceful and congenial atmosphere to the readers. The Library is equipped with modern computer system and software, where scholars can easily locate books through OPAC (On-line Public Access Catalogue) system.

Digital and Hard copies of the photographs of various functions organized from time to time by the Sadan are also available. The Library is maintaining collection of volumes of above 20 periodicals on Punjab History, Religion, Literature and some other subjects.

Oral History Cell: Established in the Library with a team of professionals who record and preserve audio/video interviews of eminent personalities who had the privilege of knowing Bhai Vir Singh from a close quarter. Voice and Visuals of Srdni.Harbans Kaur, S.Isht Dev Singh, Sh.M.L.Mongia, S.Balwant Singh Noor, S.Harjan Singh, Srdni. & S.Simran Singh, S.Shamsher Singh, S.Bakshish Singh, Sh.Lakshvir Singh, Brig.Anant Singh, Bali Anant Singh, Air Marshal Iqbal Singh Chabra, Srdni & S.Hari Singh are available with the Cell.
